Since the summer of 2009 the New Canaan Beautification League has provided hanging baskets throughout the downtown area. The summer of 2014 saw the number of baskets increase to 143 and this summer we will have over 200! A remarkable achievement.
Every year a team of dedicated NCBL volunteers gathers to assemble the baskets. After they are all put together, the crew from the NC Department of Public Works picks them up and hangs them on the lamp posts downtown. We are thankful to all that help create and maintain this town treasure!
For 2016, our baskets will contain three flowers - a purple Petchoa, 'Dragon wing' Begonia, and a white Petunia. A stunning combination!
